Rita Biek
December 4, 1930 - January 20, 2021

Rita Biek a resident of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; loving wife of Jim; devoted mother of five children; passed away at the age of 90, on January 20, 2021 in Zephyrhills, Florida. Rita was born on December 4, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to Al and Jane Wright. She graduated with a degree in Nursing in 1951 that included a career as a nurse providing excellent and compassionate care to our veterans at the VA Hospital in Allen Park, Michigan for 24 years. Rita married Jim Biek on November 10, 1951; the couple celebrated 69 years together this past November. Surviving are her husband Jim, five children; Michael (Donna), Marsha, Maureen (Jim), Marty (Debbie), and Matt (Robin), eleven grandchildren; Kendall, Eric, Alex, Andrew, Ally, Zach, Adam, Jake, Becky, Rachel, and Jimmy, Two great grandchildren; Nora, and Jackson. Rita was passionate for helping everyone she met. Her love and steadfast loyalty for family and friends defined her life. Rita’s birthplace was South Bend, so Notre Dame Fighting Irish University was in her blood. Rita also was an avid listener to the radio broadcasts of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. She was an active parishioner of St. Linus Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no Funeral Services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita’s name to St. Jude Research Hospital for Children @ www.stjude.org. Rita’s love and compassion for others will live on.

    To the entire Biek Family, You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. You have our Deepest Sympathy. I have very fond memories of your mom from when you lived on Canterbury Dr. and my visits that I made after you moved to Dearborn Heights.
