Robert H. Smith
July 26, 1932 - February 5, 2021

Smith, Robert H., passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at his winter home in Zephyrhills, FL at the age of 88. Born in Muskogee Oklahoma, Robert served in the Air Force in Germany during the Korean War. He designed heating and ventilating systems at Robson & Woese for forty years. A wood carver with the Onondaga Wood Carver Club. An active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Liverpool NY. Robert was the kind of guy who: Taught kids and grandchildren how to accomplish things independently. Built a front porch to say “hey” to neighbors and passers-by. Cleared around fire hydrants to ensure Fire and Rescue had easy access. Snowplowed neighbors driveways to help them get to work. Organized books at Barnes & Noble because that helped others find the books they were looking for. Complimented people for no reason other than to give them a smile. Loved the simplicity of people watching just to see what made people smile. Chatted up check-out clerks and servers with witty comments and good humor. Was happy just looking at a lake and nature, observing and rather than doing. Loved to figure out how a things work. Offered a helping hand to family and strangers alike, with no expectation of payback. Loved ice cream, cheese and peanuts – no matter what flavors. Robert was the loving husband of Deborah L. Smith. Loving father of Debra R. Michelle, Robert P. Smith, Kimberly J. Smith and Kim Mills, and Steven W. And Brianna M. Smith. Grandfather to Sarah Farruggio-Weigelt, Steven W. Smith II, Kyle S. Smith, Cory H. Smith and Great-grandfather to Gabriella Weigelt and Talon Smith.

Deb., Sorry for your loss. I worked with Bob for for over 35 years. As a Plumbing designer and Bob being a heating designer, we worked hand in hand to make everything fit. He was a great individual and will surely be missed. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
